Initials LA photographer Jef Boes has recently traveled to Java, Indonesia to shoot a reportage for Habitat for Humanity. The organisation believes that a safe home is the best way for people to start building their own future. In order to build safe and affordable homes for local people, they work together with local building companies, rebuilding slums and creating a better living. Habitat for Humanity ambassador Jimmy Carter states: "A decent home is not a wish, it is a human right." Jef has captured the surroundings of Tegalsari Surabaya and its inhabitants in a beautiful and captivating reportage.
