One of Initials LA's newer photographers and recently awarded Nikon 'best young promising photographer' Frederik Buyckx has shot a visual story for De Standaard Weekblad. This series tells the story of Doel, a bespoke riverside ghost town in Flanders. Only 22 inhabitants still live in the abandoned village but on the first sunny weekend of the year Doel becomes the ultimate location for an edgy fotoshoot. The village fills with bikers, car tuners and amateur photographers who are looking for a different and unusual backdrop.

Here is a selection of our favourite shots. If you want to see the full story, grab a copy of the latest De Standaard weekblad!
